The day before ...

So for the last 8 months a plucky band of 7 people from Frome Triathlon Club have been planning and organising Frome first sprint distance triathlon.

We had a max of 200 competitors and were hoping to get a 100 or so, yet with a week to go we were at 200 with a waiting in list if people as well!

The support of local companies, volunteers and competitors has been great and I just hope that tomorrow, D Day will go well and everyone will enjoy the race.

My race day responsibility is the swim, it's the start of the race and is 400m (16lengths) in the pool, followed by a 23km bike route through Somerset and Wiltshire and then to top it off a 5km run.

I have spent most of the week preparing lists and other such things. Today it was to meet with the volunteers and give them a briefing before tomorrow's event and set up transition in the rain.

So now it's time for an early night before my 5am wake up!
