Working day
What the meeting at the notary lacked in interest or entertainment it made up for in slippy floors. We are now officially grown-ups as we have both Spanish wills and power of attorneys (signed in front of a notary) and English wills (signed in a bar). Theoretically grown-up as the reality was we both had to stare hard at the table in the notary's office official sanctum not to get the giggles. Apparently the Spanish already think the English way of giving over complete power of attorney is so extreme they need it laid out in very long and full detail to which we have to confirm we really do mean it. I don't think giggling would have helped. Fortunately we held it together and passed whatever test it was we were sitting.
Then mega shop and tidy and clean for our visitors arriving tomorrow. They are not in the least bit fussy (or if they are they are too polite to say anything) but it's a good excuse for us to literally get our house in order. The kids were rewarded for both their patience and their efforts with a trip to the Bazaar Oriental for all manner of tat which makes them very happy and we were all rewarded with a massive pool session, fish dinner and game of Oh Eck on the terrace.
At the front of this picture Carl is with our lawyer, hearing tales of him getting up at 5am to answer calls from his teenage daughters to collect them from the same fair we went to last night and concerns from the elder (16) that the younger (14) had been drinking too much.
