Welcome Back to Amsterdam!

We're back! The last time we were here the city hosted International Pillow Fight Day. Now the city is celebrating Pride and has been doing so since Wednesday. I don't think we could have found a place in the western world more unlike the spaciousness and quiet of Orkney if we tried.

Today was the Pride Parade down the canals. The whole city seemed to be out celebrating, all ages and all orientations. Instead of 'I am Amsterdam' the signs proclaim 'We Are Amsterdam Gay Pride'. The atmosphere is fabulous and wasn't dampened by some pretty heavy downpours.
