Peacock Butterfly

Started out from the Hole of Horcum we dropped down onto the Newton Dale forest drive. This is much quieter than Dalby Forest where the Forestry Commission have invested in lots of facilities for tourists. In contrast Pickering Forest is more of a working forest although it does have a stop on the railway for walkers at Newton Dale Halt.

There were lots of butterflies and I managed to catch this Peacock one which kindly posed before the camera.
