The Lord Roberts

There is a lot of social history associated with English pubs.
This is the Lord Roberts, an art deco bolding of what looks like 1930's vintage.
Who was Lord Roberts? You might ask.
Field Marshal the Right Honourable the Lord Roberts was a famous Anglo-irish Soldier, with a long and distinguished service record, and bears the distinction of having been one of only two commoners to have lain in state in Westminster Abbey. The other was Winston Churchill.
From a Waterford family, Frederick Sleigh Roberts was born in India, the son of General Sir Abraham Roberts. He won a VC in India, and died at the age of 82 at St Omer in France on November 14th 1914 whilst visiting Indian troops fighting there in WW1.
Why a Nottingham Pub name? I don't have a clue!
