Too hot

It was far too hot at lunchtime today to be outside on the balcony of the golf club, so we couldn't appreciate the view over the summer countryside. We were inside with past captains of the club for their annual lunch to celebrate those of their number who have eightieth birthdays this year. It isn't our turn just yet! It was a hefty lunch for a hot day, and there were lots of speeches of course. I was pleased to get home and change into cooler clothes.
The day had started with breakfast in the garden with our family. There aren't many days in England when we can breakfast outside. The family have gone home, but George will be back again on Tuesday.
