Potting shed
I went on a coach trip with the WI today to West Dean Gardens in Sussex. The gardens are part of a large estate belonging to the Edward James Foundation, The original house is now a college providing arts and crafts courses ranging from taster days to degree courses.
Much of our guided tour was spent in a vast walled garden where there were 13 Victorian glasshouses containing anything from melons to pelargoniums. Planted outside there were every type of vegetable you could imagine as well as flowers planted in stripes or massed in beds.
Nine gardeners look after this garden now, very much reduced from the numbers who looked after it in Edwardian times whose potting shed has been preserved.
I have posted extra photos, but they seem to come out sideways - can anyone tell me why?
