The umpire,s decision . . . .

On a hot afternoon we put out the loungers under the trees. From time to time George and his father stirred themselves to play bowls. George has his arm in a light cast to protect a broken wrist, but it didn't interfere with his game. As always, Coco needed to be involved, often chasing the balls across the grass which complicated proceedings. Even when it came to measuring who was the winner, she seemed to be involved.
J and d-i-l are meeting friends locally for a meal this evening, so they are staying the night here and we are looking after George while they are out.
