It's a white
But what sort of white ?
Gone are the halcyon days when we just talked about "Cabbage Whites".
My book covers
Large White (female has two black spots on the forewing)
Small White "very similar to the Large White except for its smaller size" (really only useful if they are flying together....
Green-veined White (which looks very similar to the female Large White in the photo) - "very similar to the Small White"
Or white ones could be female Orange Tips which "lack the striking orange" - and looks very similar to the Green-Veined white and the female Large White.
And then there is the Brimstone - which may be white and "sometimes confused in flight with the Large White"
I'm not sure - the more I read the more possibilities there are (that's Life).
So, maybe I'll be old fashioned and say it's a Cabbage White....
A lovely day with my sister and her family, and my brother. They liked the food. They loved the Strawberry Ice Cream (and took it home with them)
And I'm enjoying the cherries, which escaped the Ice Cream Maker :-)
Hope you've had a good Sunday, my blip friends.
