Proud as a …..

Considering we've only been away for 3 days, I seem to have a lot of catching up to do. I did a walk check this morning - actually way too hot for a city walk which included steep hills (one road was so steep, it has its own handrail) so I was very happy to get home. We've seen lots of butterflies in the White Peak this week, but we were delighted to find so many in our garden on our return - Comma, Small Tortoiseshell, Gatekeeper. Large White, Speckled Wood and this Peacock which didn't come to rest on the Butterfly Bush, but on the ground beneath it. I guess it didn't want to be upstaged by the lovely purple flower clusters.
