Mono Monday: Pets

I've been trying all day to get a photo of my Lily, but she was not having any part of it. I tracked her to a favorite hangout spot (underneath a table) and other places throughout the day, but was unsuccessful. Finally, after dinner, she hopped up on the windowsill in the kitchen. I love how she balances all four paws on the ledge that is just about 2-1/2 inches wide.

Lily is my grand-cat, adopted from my daughter about seven years ago. She was in college (my daughter, not the cat!) renting a house where the lease clearly stated "No Pets." Undeterred, our daughter rescued Lily from some feral cats on the campus and took her home. Once the landlord discovered the adoption, our daughter scrambled to find Lily a home. Mom jumped in and let her live at the shop. Shortly after that, massive wildfires forced us to evacuate our home for a week, and Lily plus our two other cats made the exodus from our area. My husband had not known about Lily, and was not pleased. Fast forward to now, and she is the favorite and only remaining cat in the house.
