Local artwork

I was working at the hospital today. I love these paintings near the entrance to the hospital.
It's great to see some local talent painting our local beautiful architecture.
The artist is called Richard Hall Richard Hall
and the subject is 3 of our tall city centre buildings at the heart of Grainger Town, including the Central Exchange building built in 1837, Grey's monument built in 1838 & my favourite building The Emerson chambers built in 1904.
The height of the buildings is captured by using 3 separate canvases, each 20" by 20" on top of each other.
I think it's great having artwork to decorate hospitals to give patients, relatives and staff something to enjoy looking at. A few years ago, I worked in York Hospital who regularly displayed whole art exhibitions in its corridors! It was enjoyable to have a wander down the corridor to view the latest artwork on display over the lunch break- much better than the usual eating lunch whilst checking e-mails!
