" OO - OO NOBODY CAN DO IT LIKE A STEAM TRAIN "

The weather today has been superb so we decided to take our friends to Crowcombe Heathfield Station. It is the station nearer to Bishops Lydead on the West Somerset Railway. We had never visited before, preferring ususally to visit Stogumber Station, naturally as it's in our village. But we were greatly impressed. It was beautifully managed, lovely friendly staff and we were allowed to visit the Signal Box (as you can see).

The Waiting Room was spotless and even had a large rug on the floor!! Not a luxury we get our station.

Our friends had a great time, very relaxing and then we took them on a 'magical mystery tour', through narrow lanes and eventually ending back at The Outlook.

Sunday Lunch was lamb followed by strawberry/blackberry crumble. All too soon they had to depart and we collapsed in the garden.

Enjoyed the highlights of F1 and now Mr A is gearing up ready to return to work tomorrow. First day back after being off work since April. Phoebe is going to be very lonely and I'm not looking forward to saying goodbye.
