'A room with a View'

Another hot, busy day here in Stogumber. Today we visited Watchet Marina and I was all set to publish a blip taken showing all the little boats. But tonight we visited a very close friend we have known for nearly 50 years, who lives high on a hill overlooking Minehead.

She had prepared a wonderful 3 course meal which we very much enjoyed, and watched as the sun went down. It was like being on board a ship, as the wind whispered around us as we all stood together drinking coffee etc.

We talked about the old days in the 60's when the music scene was just beginning to take off. The Shadows were a huge influence on anyone who was interested in playing a guitar and Mr A was a passionate bass man, and Jet Harris was the idol of his time.

So here you see the view from the balcony. To the left are the lights on North Hill, where property is more expensive and the road winds on and up to Selworthy Beacon. This is of course on the edge if not in Exmoor National Park. A fox watched us from a distance in a nearby field and my friend often hears and sees the deer around her home.

Sorry I'm late this evening, having returned home later than planned.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend with the sun. Rain is on it's way, so will be saying 'The day that the rain came down' - Hallelujah, yes please!!!

Thank you for dropping by - I love visits!
