Pre-Pride

It's almost time for Norwich Pride 2014 - Saturday 26 July! But before that there are a few pre-Pride things going on, including this.

Writer and performer Rose Collis unbuttons her Trouser-Wearing Characters, for a night of music, history and comedy, combining stories, vignettes and songs (evergreens and originals) about some of her favourite, eclectic ‘trouser-wearing characters’, from Nancy Spain to Colonel Barker, Dougie Byng to the ‘f**king lady’ herself, Coral Browne, with cameo ‘appearances’ by the likes of Noel Coward, Marlene Dietrich and Vincent Price.

This show premiered at the Brighton Fringe 2012, and in 2013, ‘Trouser-Wearing Characters’ had a hugely successful five-week tour of New Zealand (produced by Tomboi Productions) and Australia, appearing at Auckland Fringe, NZWellington Fringe, Sydney Mardi Gras and Adelaide Fringe — the second biggest arts festival in the world.

My chum Shell (the birthday girl from Sunday) has been instrumental in bringing the show to Norwich and I'm looking forward to it immensely. Apparently people are encouraged to 'dress up, drag up or just turn up'. The photo opportunities will be immense!
