Back to the river
I spent the whole day in anticipation of having an outdoor swim this evening as it's been about 25C most of the day. However, I was indoors working for most of it and managed to get out about 5.15pm.
I got home to change into my new cossie that arrived today. But I then ran out of time to get to the outdoor pool for a decent swim so decided to go down to the river again.
The spot is beautifully secluded whilst being a minute's walk from a public car park so really handy. I had it to myself. I got straight in. It was refreshing and then warmed up as my body got used to the coolness. I swam up and round a small curve so I couldn't see my entry point any more. There are only fields all around so no people, which is a bonus. The sun was still warm and shining stars on the water (see blip). It was so peaceful and calming. I loved every second. I didn't see any wildlife this time bar one coot in the distance, obviously keeping his distance.
It was a bit of a scramble getting out but I managed it and then sat on my towel drying in the sun with my camera and got loads of gorgeous sparkling shots of the river. Two fishermen arrived on the other side just as I had got dressed. They might have fished me had they been twenty minutes earlier... I disturbed a green woodpecker on my walk back to the car.
I'm super chilled now, embracing my endorphins and happy as Larry and it's Friday tomorrow....
