Winter Mist in the Valleys

This morning found five hardy Camera Club members trekking in the dark up Quail Stream Valley, negotiating stepping stones at three fords and then taking the zigzag track to the ridge. It was very dark at start with, and cold, but the brisk trek warmed us up in no time.
We had a wonderful time up there on the hill and each of us benefited from our discussion and sharing of knowledge. Five was a good number to work with in my view. A large number of attendees could have become unwieldy. As it was we had to be aware of other track users…the walkers and runners... and take care to move our tripods out of their way!
The sunrise sky was lovely but we needed to move fast to the better view points in order to catch the fleeting dawn colours. This little impromptu exercise in group learning will most certainly be repeated in the near future.
