A hard day's night
So much for an early night. OBD tried to break us last night - she just wouldn't settle until gone 2am then when she woke again at 4am I have to confess I had a little cry. I can see why sleep deprivation is a form of torture. But we made it through the night and the fella kindly took her downstairs for a bit so I could grab an extra few minutes sleep.
The health visitor came out for her first postnatal visit - it was helpful to talk to her about the sleep and she set our minds at rest that unfortunately it's just one of those things. She also went through the red book that will be OBDs health record I think until she goes to school - it's a weird mix of health advice, records and information. But apparently it's important!
A quick pop to check on the other house (it's looking really good and won't be long until it can go up for sale) and do some admin before coming home in time for a first visit from LadyPride. Unfortunately OBD had decided she was hungry just before LP arrived so a chunk of the visit was spent with her feeding! But was great to see LP - we cried, we chatted, we ate cake and she also set our mind at rest about the current sleeping patterns. I think she enjoyed her cuddles too.
I then had a snooze with the Germany USA game in the background (pleased that USA qualified) before popping to M&S with OBD to get some tea while the fella cut the grass.
Tonight's plan is to feed OBD as much as she needs (which I think is going to be a lot) in the hope that she settles better. Wish us luck.
