I'm fully gripped by world cup fever, but it isn't half taking it's toll on me exhaustion wise. 11pm finishes plus new baby isn't a winning combination, just wait until the extra time and penalties kick in. The office football prediction game has also weakened my moral standards, I've got Uruguay placed quite highly and therefore can't see what all the fuss is about. It's not Saurez' fault that he has big teeth, it's inevitable that they'll occasionally catch onto other players. Typically corrupt FIFA.

It's safe to say I wouldn't label myself an emo, but Death Cab for Cutie are one of those backpacker emo bands that I have a soft spot for (Rival Schools are probably the only other one I have any time for). I was a late comer though and it was 2008's I Will Possess Your Heart that hooked me in and had me explore their back catalogue a bit more. I love a long slow burning song and this one has a quiet epic feel to it. Thinking a bit more about emo it's funny how it became more associated with bands like My Chemical Romance and Panic At the Disco in later years, along with kids dressed more like goths than the original emo movement where you were more likely to mistake the emo kids for hardcore loving skateboarders. Of course the Daily Mail subsequently banned emo and we all know that they're guardians of morality.
