I had forgotten about the extension tubes my folks had given me as a Christmas gift. My parents were thoughtful enough to pick up on my hint about interest in exploring even closer macros. My plan was to place the tubes between my camera and my macro lens this summer and I had forgotten all about them... until today! It wasn't the best conditions for a trial run, with rain and low light, but I still had a great time getting closer than close! :) It does pose new issues like: Just how close will a bug actually let you get?... And the trade of of magnification vs. depth of field. But over all I enjoyed using them and can't wait to try again with more light!
