There, on the end of a long arm of purple...
Sat this beauty; catching the sunlight in his wings as he stared me down.
It's interesting, if I spot a flying insect and attempt to approach it by first kneeling down and inching closer, then raising my camera... It's gone before I even get to the camera part. However, I've noticed that I have much more success if I start with the camera to my face (focus), kneel, (focus), crawl (focus), inch closer (focus, refocus, refocus, make adjustments...); they tend to stay put more often than not.
Now do you think that they: A) See their own reflection in the lens and are curious? B) Think I look like a bug with one big eye? C) Or are laughing so hard that they just can't seem to move?
See the laughter in his eyes in Large. ;-)
PS Happy Father's Day to my wonderful dad and to my sweet Hubs and fathers everywhere!
