Our first proper wine tasting morning, on a very hot day!
( I did the tasting and MrC did the driving! What do you think I brought him for. Only joking MrC!)
The "sculpture" is at the top of the village of Gigondas near the church. No idea why this man was wearing silver shoes!!
For lunch we went to another of our favourite restaurants. Run by husband and wife. Their Menu du Marche was 14-50 euros. A little more refined than the one we had at Chez Claudettes, but wonderful food for the price.
Melon and ham to start, with a very tasty herb sauce. Then Aioli. Cod, potatoes, vegetables, hard boiled eggs, and a very tasty garlic mayonnaise. You may have notice the three boulot (sea snails) Never had them before, but very tasty with the sauce. ( Well when in France........!) Sorry, have just noticed I have used the word"tasty" three times.
A chocolate mousse to finish, but it came in a pot, with strawberries dipped in chocolate, crunchy little biscuits, swirls of cream, and a bitter orange jelly in the bottom. Very different and delicious. ( Note to try and make this when we get home!)
A 1/4 ltr of rose was only 1.50 euros!

After all this hard work came home and went for a lie down!
Feeling much better now, especially as it is now cooling down. ( High 30's today)

Thank you for all your kind comments while we are away.
Internet now much better, and so will try and catch up with some of your journals.

Hope you all have a good weekend. I think you are all having good weather in England too.
