Hello Mum

Having missed the Commonwealth Games Baton relay in Edinburgh we decided to catch up with it in Penicuik.

The procession of Police outriders and support vehicles duly arrived, as did the runners with the baton carried high by a dashing young athlete with flowing hair - but the show was not over as, at the corner of the street, the baton changed hands.

The new carrier, Tom MacKenzie took the time to give his elderly mother a hug as he passed.
