His & hers novels

Busy Monday back at work and on-call from home tonight. Got home late so no real opportunities for catching a good blip. I love reading on an evening and currently reading a new book Metro 2034 (as sequel) whilst my husband is reading the first book 2033 after I recommended it to him. The books are translated from Russian and are set in the future (the year 2033-2034), where people are living in the Moscow underground after surviving the destruction of the world on the surface due to an atomic bomb (the metro was used as a bomb shelter). In this post apocalyptic world everyday survival is hard due to short supply of food and water and fighting between groups of people, as well as mutants from the surface breaking in. It's all a bit silly really but an interesting idea and good for taking my mind off everything else. I don't think the Newcastle Metro would be very useful for surviving post apocalypse since 90% of it is above ground.
