Castle Loch

A view of Stobo Castle from Castle Loch. Completed in 1811 for Sir James Montgomery, the Lord Chief Baron, Stobo Castle was the home to the family for nearly 100 years. The last resident of the castle was the Countess of Dysart who lived there until the mid 1960’s.

Acquired by the Winyard family in 1975, 2 years were spent transforming the castle into a luxury health spa. Since then it's reported that over 40,000 guests have indulged in the Stobo experience, including me, who has every intention of returning!.
