Doha Done!
Friday 13th, deemed unlucky by some , was a fortuitous day for us as we left our villa in Doha at 0530 and boarded the new five day a week direct service by Qatar Airways to Edinburgh. We touched down here some 3500 miles later at 1335. We had escaped the 46 degree heat and were delighted to land in light rain. We gulped greedy inhalations of fresh Scottish air and feasted our eyes on all the lush June vegetation. Our desert sojourn is over. We are very happy to be home. I have not yet fully recovered from a viral flu and, sadly, we have had to come home to recuperate in cooler climes. I am sorry to have not quite finished my project but I was able to liaise with both my full time successors on their orientation visits. The new school year promises much for everyone involved with this school.
My blip shows the window control on the Boeing Dreamliner at 43000 feet over The Black Sea. The opacity of the window is controlled by this switch. There is no manual blind. The windows are bigger than a conventional airliner and contribute to a very spacious feeL
