Bejewelled Damsel

My Friday "poets"* day saw me heading to the Blackwater River and one of the nature reserves running along its length. I had in mind some long exposures or perhaps would be lucky enough for some large dandelion-like clocks which I've seen in this area before. In the end, it was the damsel flies which took my eye.

It was rather breezy making sharp shots tricky, but this particularly colourful creature kept coming back to the same grass seed head over and over again allowing me to take a number of shots and choose the sharpest. I was also after a bronze coloured damsel, but they stay out of range of my lens :(
