'Rose Heaven'
Today we decided to return to Mottisfont National Trust....as my visit there last Sunday was too sunny and bright for good photos. I would be happy to STAY there....it's a wonderful place. It was once again, a lovely day.....so many people there. After coffee and a long walk we left the grounds and drove towards Romsey. Found a really nice Country Pub called 'Bear and Ragged Staff'' where we had a really nice meal...I had Trout! They pride themselves on the fact that they locally source all their products!
After lunch we returned to Mottisfont.....Pete went for a walk along the river but I was back in the walled gardens. The scent of the Roses was amazing! They told us they were staying open until 8pm ...so we had tea and a good walk around the grounds again. The Rose gardens were almost deserted by then and I was able to take my time....reading up labels etc.
In my collage the two Roses are 'Albertine' top right.....'Mary Rose' bottom left. Aren't they gorgeous?
