'Art in the Park'
Despite the dark clouds we drove again towards Romsey to visit Sir Harold Hillier Gardens....which boasts one of the largest collections of trees and shrubs in the world. They were awarded the Award of Garden Merit by RHS.
Again we walked miles...and got soaked, then the sun came out, then we got soaked etc, etc. One of those days. The Centenary Border is starting to come to life...I can imagine its going to be stunning in a few weeks time. We had a great show of Lupins, Bearded Iris, Peonies,Delphiniums and Hardy Geraniums.
There was an exhibition of sculptures all around the grounds...I didn't buy one....the majority of them were £3000 to £6000. Prefer Blue Spode! They were all very good though and I particularly liked the two I have shown.
The pond and bog gardens were looking nice too.
The Honeysuckle on my collage is called 'Mandarin' and was glorious.
A very nice day.....hopefully weather will be better tomorrow!
