Stone Age Woman .......

I went through to Edinburgh this evening and was walking out of George Square when I spotted this. The stone in front of her contains a hollowed out image of her so the two together look like a large rock has been split and she was in the middle, like a fossil.

Afterwards, we met up with some folks from far and near and ended up in The Doric bar near Waverley Station for a wee while. It was a really enjoyable evening – everyone was warm and friendly and I came away feeling aglow with conviviality. This feeling continued for a little longer as Alex and I went on to Pizza Express in Stockbridge to have our dinner. There was lovely relaxed and cheery atmosphere in there tonight – maybe the sense of summer being on its way? And my pizza was absolutely delicious – it had crumbled chilli and fennel sausage on it which was just the right side of fiery, offset by cooling baby mozzarella which melted in your mouth like butter.
