Physic Lane
We had such a nice day yesterday for my friend's birthday treat. We went to the sea for a walk, then called on #3 daughter so that Jenny could meet baby Nathaniel. #2 daughter and family were there too, so we sat in the garden, in the sun, chatting, drinking Pimms, and watching the little cousins Ella and Thomas play. Then I treated Jenny to a pre-theatre supper in Cafe 21 - really nice food - and on to the Sage for a concert - Poulenc, (clarinet sonata), Debussy (string quartet), and Ravel's piano trio, which sounded more Wagner than the Ravel I was familiar with. A great day, lots of pictures taken, but I'd already posted a blip, thinking I'd not be back in time.
Today I walked over the moor and down Physic Lane, the blip above, to have lunch with a friend in the next village. Everything is so verdant, sweet-smelling and fresh-looking at this time of year. Though it was warm it was overcast with poor light, so my pictures all look flat. However, I loved this hawthorn blossom on what we'd have called a green lane in Suffolk. I don't know why this track is called Physic Lane though, so must find out.
