Gently down the stream

First of all, I want to thank everyone so much for all your really lovely, kind comments, hearts and stars, which got yesterday's image to the spotlight. The generosity of blippers is amazing, both over my 500 and - just before it and in a quite different way - over my mum's passing. You are a wonderful crew and make me feel quite humbled!

This was taken today, appropriately enough in the rain, in the churchyard of what I know as Farley Church, but which I think is officially called the Church of St John at Farley Chamberlayne. It is part of my WW1 commemoration series of Hampshire country churchyards. Many of the stones were smothered in this wonderful lichen and the church wall behind had extraordinary great swirls etched into the rendering - presumably by some sort of grub, would anyone know what? It looked like a piece of modern / tribal art (you can see the effect better in Large).

Enjoy your day, whether it be wet bank holiday or sunny office stint! xx
