Gently down the stream

3. ..and in the morning

A grey morning but I woke early again so decided to go blipping and continue my WW1 Remembrance series of images in country churchyards. I say grey, but in fact, although there were great swashes of rain every so often, the light was a wonderful soft silver - and I didn't get wet (except for the knees of my jeans!)

Anyway, it being uncertain, I just went back to the churchyard where I blipped on Wednesday, St Swithun's at Headbourne Worthy, because it's only a short walk down the road for me. I saw this wonderful old iron grass-roller last time and thought it might make a good picture.

I don't think rollers are ever used on grass these days, except for sports pitches, are they? I'm sure no gardener would want to compact a lawn that much. And probably this one hasn't been moved much in the last 100 years.

Thanks you all, once again, for your very kind thoughts and messages, and your patience with my late commenting! Normal service will now be resumed - at least, that's the intention xx
