2. Sopwith

Second day of my WW1 project I go to blip in the churchyard of All Saints Church at Up Somborne - and was amazed to find this!

Sopwith's company made more that 16,000 planes used by British Forces during the First World War (even I remember the name Sopwith Camel - must have been from my Beano reading days). More info here if you want it.

The church itself is enchanting, tiny, quite plain looking from the outside and set it a wildflower meadow from which many of the gravestones have been removed. It's mentioned in the Doomsday Book.

I maybe a bit off piste for the next 24 hours as my mum's funeral is tomorrow, but will come back and comment as soon as I can - promise xx
