Alpine horizon

The exams are finished and the end of the year is drawing nigh. Thank goodness! The sun came out later today and with an unusual early get-away from school I came home and set off on a long dog walk. We walked far into the distance and it was a fabulous evening. Two hours later we found a train station with a bar next door, After a refreshing apple juice we came back by train. Only in Switzerland!
This view made me remember the early mountaineers who often set out to reach the Alps on foot, thus building up their fitness and gently acclimatising en route: in the far distance are the Alps. I can only imagine what they felt when they got their first glimpse of the Alps across the hills and pastures. It lifted my spirits.
