Kings Canyon

Up before everyone else in the campsite this morning. Drove to Kings canyon which was only a 10km drive. We ate our breakfast as the sun was rising and then set off on our walk. We were in front of everyone which was brilliant. Such an incredible place, one of my favourite places in Oz so far. There was a different view every minute of the walk. Finished our walk by 9.30 and set off to Glen Helen.
Well.....the dirt track road was an absolute nightmare. Definitely not for 2 wheel drives! Had to go 20km per hour for most of the drive. So instead of taking a nice 2 hours to get there it took 6 hours. There were hardly any cars on the road for hours, only a couple of 4WDs and one huge road train that nearly took us out. It was an eventful drive! So nice to hit the concrete road for the last 100km to Glen Helen. Mother then realised afterwards that we needed a permit to drive on it, luckily it was afterwards, haha. Glen Helen resort is in such a lovely location. We had a nice sit down in the sun and then cooked a good bacon and mushroom pasta before hitting the hay!
