Growing with the flow

Food glorious food

You can't go far in Tokyo without coming across a restaurant or eatery. Most are pretty cheap as well. The choice is remarkable if you're an adventurous eater. Not so remarkable if your a 10 or 11 year with a taste for pasta and you don't eat meat.... but that's another story.
Fish is an omnipresent ingredient and you have to be prepared to eat it raw whilst Miso soup seems to come with everything. One of the strangest sensations is tucking into food you expect to be hot which turns out to be cold and vice versa. I would have liked to try more Japanese cuisine but small people were not so keen.
I have to admit we ended up seeking out Western eateries on a number of occasions....
