Tile #2-Ancient Elk

The second of the 3 tiles is an Anazazi drawing of an elk found also in New Mexico. The little cups hold the various colored ground glasses, the large chunks of irridescents cover the whole image and more ground glass is added on top of that. This piece will be especially colorful because today is shiny bright with possibilities, good camaraderie and great chatter amongst the 9 of us. Tuesday we'll have a party after we open the kiln and get our pieces out. We may have to refire to correct any "Oh my God...what was I thinking!!!" errors. But it's a new bit of knowledge so no one cares. We can begin again another day!

The mountains were magnificent this morning, but we'll revisit those beauties another day.
