Ernie's Bench

Ernie was a competition cyclist who had an acident in his mid-60's and was wheelchair bound for many years. He became the lead in our very small neighbourhood watch radio network. He lived very nearby with a view of the sea all of his life. Almost daily, he rode his electric wheelchair down the gravel road to this spot to enjoy the view and made it his own, having installed the bench in memory of his wife eight years ago.
This morning it was peaceful and there were 30 dolphins inshore surfing in the waves.
