The Chocolate Works

Today's blip is a shot of the entrance to the old Terry's (of York) manufacturing site - including one of the gate posts and the clock tower.

It is a commanding building and can be seen from many miles away (as the surrounding land is so flat)

Production ceased here in 2005 and the site has changed hands a few times from developer to developer who have submitted various redevelopment plans.

Some parts of the site have been demolished but the listed buildings have been weather proofed.

There is currently planning permission for residential units, offices, hotels and shops -- work is ongoing.
