Candle

"I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness." John 12:46

Today's picture is of our advent candle that we are still burning!! It has taken us a while, normally we are quite good at burning our advent candle at the right time, but as you can see we are 4 months late with this one!!!

The Bible verse is from one of the Gospels, John. These are the words of Jesus that He came into the world as light so that if we believe in Him we come out of the darkness. It strikes me when reflecting about this verse that when you are in darkness you cannot see, or you can see very little. Sometimes your eyes play tricks on you and you see things that look frightening, but when you turn the light on you can see things for how they really are. This is the same when you know that Jesus is Saviour and Lord, it is helps you to see things as they really are. Things no longer seem frightening, because you are in the light. Are you in the light?
