At home: A bird in the hand and not in the dog....
This little chick the first hatchling the season.
I fear that is has survived where the others may have failed. We came home, two weeks ago to a lightening storm and a power cut. Its not clear how long the power was off, but perhaps it was long enough for the eggs in the incubator to have cooled.
I am guessing that the little hatchling has come from an egg that was surrounded by the other eggs. If you like, incubated by the other eggs when the power failed.
Its a lively little thing. So much so that the Eva the pup is fascinated by its relentless chirping and leaping about. I am guessing that she would rather it left out of the hand and into her mouth.......unlikely, Eva.....x
