At home: life isn't perfect you know......x
A rushed evening....
The head teacher announced at assembly that the easter bonnet competition would close at 9 am tomorrow morning. The almost predictably cries from the dinner table, "but we haven't made one yet, mum!"
An evening of crafting. Paint covered table, glue in the hair, magazines shredded for anything chick like. Sam disappears into the hen house and comes back armed with an assortment of feathers (hopefully not plucked from source!)
So with children fighting over glue pots, cutting sponges into chick shapes, sponge pieces scattering the carpet. I head to the kitchen. You could be mistaken for thinking I head there for solace away from the mad easter crafting. I am actually about to ward off lunchbox panic.
Lunch box panic: Its thursday. Everyone has it. There is nothing left in the fridge to eat. Short of a "can I be bothered" trip to the supermarket you have to start baking at this point. Actually, I like times like this. Because in the madness of your world something lovely happens. You can see all the imperfections of your life in one jammy tart. All the rush, distraction, fun, laughter, and love.
Life isn't perfect, but its the best way to be ....x
