Candles to utility

Laurels get a bad press in garden writing. They are often thought of as dull, dusty shrubs used in suburban gardens, perhaps.
We have a few of them among the shrubs and trees which border the front of our garden. They do have a few redeeming features:
1. They are evergreen.
2. They are fairly quick to grow.
3. They form a dense screen.

But how often are they seen with flowers like this ?
