Darwin's Barberry
Lack of inspiration, grey skies and a biting wind meant I almost didn't dig the camera out today. However, noticing this intense yellow / orange flower on a shrub in Mum's garden had me heading for the camera.
Mum and I search her gardening books and online, finally identifying the plant as a Berberis darwinii, a thorny shrub with spiky leaves like a miniature holly bush. In autumn it bears grey blue berries.
The light wasn't great, and the wind still an issue, so I upped the ISO and hoped for the best.
