"....but he was still hungry"

I loved the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar!!!

And as a 24 year old I still do! :)

I never knew that the inspiration for the story came from a single hole punch in a piece of paper but how effective has it been! Loved by children and adults alike, the bright colours, simple story and different sized pages all add to its attractiveness and lovability!

This story, like those of Elmer the elephant, the Biff Chip and Kipper books, Stig of the Dump and Bubble and Squeak are books from my childhood which will be read to my children if I am ever blessed with them in the future! And if not, they will still sit proudly on my bookshelf as a source of happy childhood memories.
