"the Ulstermen"

It was wet, it was windy....no that's a lie! It was very wet, and very windy!! It could only have been Friday night rugby at Murrayfield!! Oh, and did I mention it was absolutely freezing too! :(

After having the amazing experience of watching Ulster play at home in Ravenhill back in January, I was determined, rain or no rain, that I was going to support the Ulstermen in this Pro12 clash against Edinburgh.

Surprisingly I ended up surrounded by more Ulster supporters than I thought I would be! Maybe the most recent easyjet arrival into Edinburgh was full of them! I luckily found a seat under cover so I was able to stay dry whilst watching the teams battle it out for 80mins in terrible conditions! The scoreline reflected the playing conditions, and the bug eaten Murrayfield pitch did nothing to help matters either! haha! But, a win for Ulster and that's all that matters! :)

Thanks to Janice, Clifford and their boys in January, I got to meet most of the team, including Tommy Bowe and Stephen Ferris who were both still making their return from injury. Tonight, both were fighting fit and I was able to watch them play in the ulster 6 and 14 shirts for the very first time!

At the end of the match, Murrayfield officials permitted a pitch invasion from the spectators before the pitch was to be ripped up and replaced with a bug free astro type turf for next season! It was a very strange feeling to be standing on Murrayfield soil, but definitely an experience I'll remember and one that many people have never had!

And with that, me and my frost bitten fingers and toes went in search of some warmth! Think I'll be defrosting for days!
