Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

We're ready now...

A day of doing nothing. Not even communing with nature in my garden - just a brief pop - too bloomin’ cold out! I rather liked the bokeh in this shot - that’s the hedge showing too many bald patches.

I did manage several chapters of my book (Kate Atkinson), which I’m really enjoying. But I tend to fall asleep. Is this normal?

Serious steps were taken today to search for a puppy. Even a phone call was made. We have looked now and again over the years, but there’s no use searching too soon, if we’re not ready. But after the Easter holiday would be an ideal time.

Despite many alluring properties for summer house swaps - including a very enticing one in a fantastic converted warehouse in Adelaide for 6 weeks - we haven’t arranged anything yet. Which now makes a puppy after Easter possible. How exciting!

But why are all the Miniature Schnauzers bred in the south of England? Too far from us!

It was too late in the day to go and browse round ‘Pets R Us’...
