The only way is..

..early start today. Big day for the photo club. Up at 6 to sort the hens and cats and dog out. Then I managed a couple of slices of warm bread (the Aga style cooker wasn't hot enough at 6:45..

I turned up at 7:20 and we went off to pick up R at 7:30. On the road to Nairn.. A good trip, with occasional use of the wipers needed. Plenty of snow on Ben Wyvis.

Arrived in Nairn in good time, and entertained with coffee, and a couple of talks, and lunch. Then for the main event. The judges results.

The first, of 80, pictures was displayed. The image was dark and dreary. The judge said it was dark and dreary. 15 points. And so on. Our clubs first picture was dark and dreary, 12 points. And so on, for 80 pictures, and 1 hour 30 minutes.

And the final results, in reverse order. In 8th place - wait for it - Scourie with 146 points. We didn't win anything in the raffle either..

We did learn a lot. Our judges choices didn't match the judge on the day. The pictures we thought were best were the worst, and the ones we thought were the worst were the best.. It was one of those days..

Apparently we need to brighten our pictures and make them interesting with flashes of lightening, helicopters with men dangling on ropes, and surrepticious placement of "Big issue" salesmen..

Next year will be different..

So, the only way is music..

And this is my uninteresting shot of the sunrise before we left!..
