Doha Days

A Spice Girl ...

The souk is a perpetual surprise. Tonight as we dined in a Moroccan restaurant we were entertained by Bedouin dancers completely veiled but beguilingly distracting to the Indian migrant workers who thronged around the performance tent. This masked mannequin was adjacent to the street food stalls where spicy aromas wafted on the warm night air. Across the corniche the Qatar International Food Festival was launched this evening. We had planned to go to that too but the traffic grid lock prevented us from getting anywhere near it. The souk was full of more than enough international cuisine for us anyway! Our weekend seems to have come round very quickly here this week!
